We welcomed J. Silas into the world in 2011!
And we welcomed this beautiful creature into the world in 2014. We call him A. Simeon.
I have a twin, Prof. Perry Zurn, Department of Philosophy at American University. He researches broadly in the fields of political philosophy, gender theory, and applied ethics. His work specifically contributes to critical prison studies and curiosity studies. We've written a few papers together, on neuroscience and curiosity.
The other Prof. Bassett in Penn's School of Engineering & Applied Science, is my husband, Lee C. Bassett. He studies quantum dynamics in nanoscale materials and devices using optics and electronics. His group seeks to better understand complex quantum-mechanical systems, with a goal of developing new technologies for communication, computation, and sensing based on quantum physics.
I had the great opportunity to study at the University of Cambridge on a combination of a Churchill Scholarship and NIH-Cambridge Scholarship. While I was there, I rowed for and captained the crew team at King's College.
